Description:
Our client is looking for a Machine Setter Technician to work at a location in Waterlooville
Key Responsibilities for the position include:
• Load/unload injection mould tools following the safe systems of work.
• Setting of production tooling and ancillary equipment in line with master settings.
• Plan and prepare upcoming production jobs in advance to optimise changeover process
• Effective hand over from set up to production with Quality Technician, Supervisors and Operator.
• Follow the reject escalation process and report to the Senior Technician any equipment that is failing to perform to satisfactory standards.
• Use structured problem-solving process to resolve issues with containment and permanent corrective actions
• Work in cross-functional teams to establish root cause and corrective actions to injection moulding process issues
• Knowledge Capture and Sharing for best practice and standard work improvements
• Maintenance of records to confirm process is in control.
• Assist the development department with NPI (trials, SMS etc)
Key Skills & Experience required for the position include:
Education
Essential
• NVQ Level 3 / Level 3 PTIC or equivalent in injection moulding or other related engineering or manufacturing subject.
Desirable
• Completed Apprenticeship in a related subject.
• Aim (Advanced injection moulding).
• Process Technician training.
Knowledge
Essential
• Knowledge of injection moulding process including monitoring/optimising and development of process.
• Knowledge of injection moulding machines including all safety features.
• Knowledge of injection moulding ancillary equipment including Robots/hot runner systems and mould heaters.
• Knowledge of materials processing and processing temperatures.
• Scientific moulding/DOE experience
• Use of problem-solving techniques.
Desirable
• Basic knowledge of manual handling practices.
• Knowledge of conducting gate freeze studies.
• Knowledge of calculating residence times.
• Knowledge of Calculating projected clamp tonnage.
• Knowledge of injection mould tooling.
