Assistant Quantity Surveyor

Description:

Our client is a high quality groundworks and civil engineering contractor who work with the UK's leading house builders in the South of England and have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their team in the Hampshire area.

The salary is up to 50,000 per annum (depending on experience) plus a Car Allowance & a Fantastic Benefits Package.

You will be reporting directly to the Commercial Manager

Key Responsibilities for the position include:

• Assist with budgets and monitoring project expenses for the groundworks on residential developments
• Liaise with other departments to ensure budgets are met
• Attend meetings with the construction teams, senior management, external contractors as well as pre-order meetings and project review meetings
• Conducting Site Visits and liaising with site teams
• Helping with purchasing goods/services and managing accounts
• Assist with material buying when required
• Assess payments to contractors

Key Skills & Experience required for the position include:

• At least 3 years experience in Civil Engineering/Groundworks
• Excellent Communication and negotiation skills
• A degree/HNC in Quantity Surveying or Civil Engineering is preferred
• Strong Communication and Organizational Skills
• Familiarity with measurement/take-off software (like AutoCAD) would be desirable
• Full UK Driving License
• Right to work in the UK
