Recruitment Consultant
Job title: Commercial Recruitment Consultant
Reports to: Divisional Manager, Operations Director
Location: Unit 1 Sovereign Gate, 308-314 Commercial Road, Portsmouth, Hants, PO1 4BL
Role type: Permanent
The role
To maximise the organisation's revenue and to ensure profitability through:
- Sales
- Service
- Candidate Generation
- Administration
Sales
- To generate new business through telephone and face to face sales activities.
- To meet, as a minimum, agreed sales and performance targets.
- To maintain and maximise existing business potential by investigating additional areas of need for the company's services during all telephone and face to face contact with clients and candidates.
- To exploit potential business opportunities including leads and referrals and at all times to promote the services offered by the company.
- To make client service calls and to take the opportunity to develop business in addition to consolidating the relationship and monitoring the service provided.
- To work within the scope of the company pricing policy. (Charge Calculator)
- To adhere to company terms and conditions of business.
Service
Clients:
- To build, maintain and enhance mutually beneficial client working relationships.
- To respond to clients requests within company-approved timescales.
- To obtain accurate job descriptions, and flexible person specifications from clients.
- To fully investigate candidates' suitability against client requirements.
- To follow up on all client activities in a timely manner, including interviews arranged and the post interview process.
- To maintain regular client contact.
Candidates:
- To build, maintain and enhance mutually beneficial candidate working relationships.
- To recruit quality candidates through planned candidate strategy, including, advertising, promotional activities and exploiting all existing resources within the organisation in order to fill vacancies.
- To ensure a suitable pool of candidates are available to fill vacancies/bookings.
- To assess the suitability of candidates for registration.
- To pre-register candidates prior to adding their details to the database.
- To conduct a full telephone interview prior to submitting candidates' CVs to vacancies and, where appropriate, to take up references.
- To fully inform candidates about prospective positions, prior to submitting their CV.
- To brief candidates in full prior to interview and gain post interview feedback.
- To maintain regular candidate contact.
Administration
- To complete all relevant office administration in line with company procedures.
- To ensure that all company procedures are adhered to in a timely manner.
- To maintain and update the database and all required registers and reports.

- o Accurate weekly Bible administration
- o Payroll - Validation
- o Candidate registration process/administration
- o Referencing
- o Candidate induction

- o Periodic tracker/stats recording

General
- To keep management informed about any developments, trends or problems relating to clients, prospects or team members.
- To project a professional image in all aspects of personal presentation.
- To assist with ad-hoc projects, campaigns and assignments as required.
- To adhere to company policies, systems, procedures and codes of practice.
- To make recommendations to management concerning potential improvements to company procedures and standards.
- To perform any other duties as required from time to time by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience
- A proven track record in quality sales (or proactive sales administration with the potential to move into a sales role), ideally gained with a small to medium sized company.
- Ability to deal effectively with people at all levels.
- Stability in past work history.
- Educated to A level or degree level in a business-related subject.
- Computer literacy.
