Country Manager / Director – £50 – £55k (relocation package)
France - Based in Portsmouth, Hampshire, South East
Multinational Award Winning Online Retailer

As a Country Manager you will drive various functions of the business across France including Marketing, Operations, Customer Service, Buying and Merchandising. You will develop and support the main business strategy, focusing on optimizing the performance of the business.

Country Managers & Directors – France
• Administration and Strategy
o Take accountability for the development of the Country Business Strategy
o Be accountable for the sales performance by country within the Country
o Own and manage the P&L including optimising top line performance and flow through to the bottom line
o Establish marketing budget and ensure KPIs such as ROI are met
o Deliver market performance statistics illustrating KPIS and relative performance against them
• Trading and performance
o Drive trading activity
o Analyse and understand weekly trading performance to identify underperforming categories / products and establish actions to fix issues
o Recommend key brands to aid localisation
• Drive Traffic Delivery and New Customer Acquisition working with Marketing
o Devise local activity plan and recruit local agency support
o Manage in- country media relations, social media and local content
o Establish an in-country program of events and sponsorship
o Build market share
• Improve customer conversion and site experience working with Marketing
o Manage homepage to ensure key products are featured
o Ensure translation targets are met
o Ensure product page details conform to local county requirements e.g size guides, reviews
• Drive customer loyalty and lifetime value
o Establish customer contact strategy for each country within the Country
o Ensure translation of all outgoing communications


• Demonstrate a strong interest and experience in retail, especially in online
• Highly commercial, and able to understand the financial levers of a complex retail business
• Ability to communicate effectively through a variety of methods with exceptions influencing capability
• Ability to speak fluently in more than one European language
• Must be detail-oriented, deadline driven, and able to multi-task with solid organizational and time-management skills
• Aptitude with numbers and strong commercial acumen
• Exceptional communication and presentation skills
• Demonstrate an excellent work and customer care ethos
• Ability to think clearly and calmly under pressure and cope well with the demands of a rapidly growing company
• Maintain a degree of flexibility to working arrangements and have a ‘can do’ attitude to getting the task done
