Job Title: Customer Service Agent

Location: Petersfield

Salary: Competitive

Customer Service Agents are responsible for managing the relationship with customers from the inception of their motor finance agreement through to its conclusion. This is a varied role talking to customers via inbound & outbound telephone calls, email, web chat and letter.

Responsibilities: -

• Work in close partnership with customers in financial difficulty to understand their individual circumstances and agree a fair & appropriate solution path
• Complete income and expenditure assessments to understand the customer’s financial position and evaluate the ongoing sustainability of their agreement
• Liaise with 3rd parties such as debt advice organisations, solicitors, The Insolvency Service etc.
• Agree an arrears clearance payment plan that is both affordable and reasonable
• Proactively manage the relationship with vulnerable customers or their third party representative in a manner that is sensitive to the customers individual needs
• Actively resolve complaints in line with Financial Conduct Authority complaint handling requirements
• Set up Direct Debits, amend payment due dates and process card payments
• Manage our end of contract administrative process
• Process partial early settlements and provide settlement figures when requested
• Manage customer enquires in a positive customer focused manner

ESSENTIAL:

• Telephone based customer service/collections experience (preferably within a FSA/FCA regulated environment)
• Strong problem solving & negotiation skills
• Ability to prioritise work, good time management skills
• Good attention to detail
• Flexible, able to adapt to changing business & customer needs
• Excellent verbal & written communication skills


DESIRABLE:

• Regulated complaint handling experience
• Understanding of the Consumer Credit Act
• Understanding of Data protection, Anti Money Laundering, Anti-Bribery & corruption requirements
• Experience within the Consumer finance sector
