The Finance Director (Interim) is a key post during the transition towards a two-way arrangement. For the initial transition period the Finance Director (Interim) will work very closely with the Finance Director to prepare for his departure. Following on from the initial transition period, the Finance Director (Interim) will be responsible for working with colleagues to support the overall development of the vision, mission and delivery of the strategic aims of our client. In addition, the Finance Director (Interim) will be responsible for assessing the remaining staffing structure of the Finance Department in order to propose an efficient and effective provision to serve our client.
The key purpose of this role : -
-To effectively communicate financial information to boards and Commities
-To empower the Finance Managers (responsible for managing the day to day work flow and Finance Assistants) and provide leadership for the Finance Team.
-Prepare 1-3 yearly financial plans, budgets and projections, managing the process for its approval as appropriate in each diocese and adhering to the timetables.
-Working closely with the Finance Managers to ensure the timely preparation of annual accounts and company reports.
-To be the secretary to each branch Asset Management / Investment Advisory Committee and to ensure that matters relating to the investment of the assets of each Board are handled efficiently and in accordance with best practice and policy set out in that branch. Support the work of finance and audit sub-committees in each branch.
Education and Qualifications
1.Graduate or equivalent level of education with a recognised professional finance or accounting qualification (ACA or equivalent).
2.Evidence of relevant continuing professional development.
Background and Experience
3.Operated successfully in a finance role at Board level of a significant organisation in the financial, corporate or endowed charitable sector or have demonstrated that you are now ready to do so.
4.Experience of playing and active part in the development of strategy.
5.Previous experience of leading or taking substantial responsibilities for managing change.
6.Experience of managing people and delivering through a team.
7.A working knowledge and experience of managing assets.
8.Experience of Access business and financial system would be an advantage.
