£50,000 - £70,000 per annum

We are looking for an exceptional senior project manager from the Energy Sector :-

• Responsible for driving for the regulatory processes associated to the Ofgem Switching Programme
• Business led process change & IT Delivery
• Design, assess & document governance arrangements
• Working with licence and industry code provisions
• Updates to statutory requirement
• Compliance framework

This role is a senior project management position and part of an Industry Change Portfolio is responsible for delivering projects and programmes which are driven by regulatory change. The demand for regulatory change has continued to increase resulting in the current portfolio including approximately 60 projects and programmes, with many more in the pipeline. These projects and programmes range from business led process change to IT delivery and can be small three month deliveries through to large projects taking up to two years. Due to the continued growth in this business area, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a Project Manager Level 4 to join the dynamic team based in Hampshire.

Working with the programme team and industry participants, you will report into the Lead Project Manager and be responsible for driving forward the regulatory processes associated to the Ofgem Switching Programme. The Regulatory Process Project Manager will be responsible for designing, assessing and documenting governance arrangements, including licence and industry code provisions. These provisions will underpin the functional and non-functional requirements of the Central Registration Service (CRS); and ensure fast and reliable next-day switching arrangements that would operate on the CRS. You must work to ensure that all of these provisions are aligned to the objectives of next-day switching and the programme's solution design. Work streams within this area include updates to statutory requirements, updating roles and responsibilities in relation to the 'to be' world, creation of a new governance and compliance framework and updating the subsequent business roles which support the governance process.

You will need to ensure that realistic project, quality, change control and risk management processes are maintained whilst monitoring and controlling resources, timescales and costs against the project budget. You will have experience of differing project and programme development lifecycles and methodologies with the ability to deliver strong project governance. You will also ensure that business strategy, policy and standards are adhered to, recognising where remedial action is required and make it happen.

As a Senior Project Manager, you will also be responsible for the line management and task management of other Project Managers in a matrix management environment. Therefore, the ideal candidate will have strong experience of people development and performance management. You will have the ability to provide leadership, focus and direction for the project team. You will need to establish and maintain highly effective relationships with your team and all business users across the business; initiating reviews of existing processes and challenging the status quo.

A key factor to this role is having the ability to manage risks and issues, assessing criticalities and contingencies. You will use consistent processes to identify potential risks, quantifying and documenting the probability of occurrence and the impact on the business whilst focussing on delivering against stretching targets and requirements. You will also be required to manage cross project and programme dependencies; ensuring activity is joined up from an operational and delivery point of view.

You will provide regular reports and measures to demonstrate performance and progress against the project or programme plan and carry out assessments of requests for changes to existing projects, ensuring you have a robust implementation plan in place. You will proactively manage key customer/stakeholder relationships, relevant to your projects and programmes through appropriate management frameworks, incorporating a gate review process.

To be successful in this role, you should be qualified to Prince2 Practitioner level, have strong people management, project and programme management experience and possess demonstrable skills in managing risks and issues. You will have a high level of aptitude with Microsoft project and a strong knowledge of all Microsoft Office applications with specific reference to Word, Excel, Project and PowerPoint. You will be highly articulate with effective written, interpersonal and analytical skills and a strong customer focused approach. You will need to have strong influencing skills, attention to detail and the ability to facilitate an environment that supports the organisations Vision and Values, whilst encouraging innovation.
